COUNSELLING

Re-evaluation co-counselling is based on an exchange of time in groups or two-way sessions and is not something you can drop into casually. You have to start by joining a Fundamentals Class; these are offered regularly in many cities around the world. There are professional therapists who are also trained co-counsellors and can offer one-way sessions.

BOOKS

There are literally thousands of books about healing and cancer, both conventional and alternative. I never attempted a systematic review of this literature. I read relatively few books; those that were given to me and those I just happened to come across. The ones listed here are those that really helped either my thinking or my faith - or both.

Getting Well Again Carl Simonton

Love, Medicine and Miracles Bernie Siegel

Peace, Love and Healing Bernie Siegel

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying Sogyal Rinpoche

Facing Death and Finding Hope Christine Longaker

The Healing Power of the Mind Tulku Thondup

Quantum Healing Deepak Chopra

Why People Don’t Heal – And How They Can Carolyn Myss

The Journey Brandon Bays

Healing Miracles William A. McGarey

Options: Alternative Cancer Therapy Richard Walters

Cancer Therapy: The Independent Consumer’s Guide Ralph Moss

      THE INTERNET

The internet is a huge source of information and contacts for anyone interested in healing from cancer. The challenge is how to use it effectively. When I put the word "cancer" into a search engine it responded with more than 10 million entries. When I specified "cancer" and "healing" I got 600,000. So you have to learn how to find your way around. I’m no expert here, but the sites that I have found most helpful as a starting points are:

www.fightingcancer.com

Created by Jonathan Chamberlain following his wife’s fight with cancer, this is a wonderful example of the wisdom that can come from illness. It includes excellent suggestion

www.cancerindex.org

Another independently-run site that provides an intelligent guide to over 4,000 sources of cancer-related information.

www.CancerDecisions.com

Ralph Moss’s website which, although rather uneven, is one the best sources of up-to-date information on the options for cancer treatment, both conventional and alternative.

www.ecap-online.org

This is Bernie Siegel’s website.
